Veranda at Mountside Care Home

Peaceful, safe and close to local amenities

Situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood in the picturesque East Sussex seaside town of Hastings, Mountside is the perfect place for your loved one to spend their twilight years.

Our activities coordinator will be on hand to help them pursue their interests and hobbies and to enjoy the many various activities, events, and outings we provide, should they so wish. And with spacious bedrooms, three lounges, two dining rooms and landscaped gardens, there's always plenty of space to meet with new found friends or just to take some quiet time for youself.

When it's time to move into full time care...

It's natural to want to live in your own home for as long as possible. No one wants to be 'put in a care home'. However, as we age, the strive for continued independence can actually lead to isolation, loneliness, struggle and confusion.

If your loved one has reached the stage where daily living is a real struggle and it's no longer practical or manageable to live at home, we'd like to offer you the perfect solution with our Residential, Dementia and Respite care services.

The best decision you can make?

Far from being a negative step, your loved one becoming a resident at Mountside may prove to be the best decision you've ever made. In fact, the most common comment we have from residents and families after they've moved in is "I wish we'd done it so much sooner".

You'll find your loved one is likely to blossom here. Freed from the many challenges of daily living at home, they'll be able to make new friends, join in a variety of activities and enjoy life to the full again.

But don't take our word for it. Read the testimonials below from other residents' families who felt this way.

"I would have no problem in recommending this home to anyone"

The thought of having a loved one going into a care home can be scary. My mum has been in Mountside for nearly 2 and a half years now. The managers are great. The care and attention given to my mum are lovely. No problem is too big.

The staff pass on messages if required and the activities they have, Bingo, Films, Sing-Songs, Quizzes and entertainment are good fun for all. I would have no problem in recommending this home to anyone. I have peace of mind knowing she is in the best place based on circumstances. Thanks to all the lovely staff.

"However, within a week that all changed he loved it!"

A very dear friend was admitted last month he had to move from another care home, but due to the increase in fees/new management, he could not afford to stay although he was very happy there.

Moving to Mountside Residential Home was, therefore, distressing for him. However, within a week that all changed he loved it! The care is beyond expectation, the food/meals are freshly cooked and delicious.

The activities are planned throughout each month. My friend could not be happier and we as family and friends are absolutely delighted. Thank You.

"It was great to see him so happy and relaxed"

My brother lived at Mountside for a year, and I have to say, it was great to see him so happy and relaxed.

It was very sad for us that he had to move to a home, but once he had settled, it had brought back his old glow and charm. He always said he was well cared for, and the building was beautiful.

We are so happy that he managed to get another year of being himself again after struggling so much at home. He always loved the weekly bingo!
